About Patricia McGillicuddy
Hi my name is Patricia McGillicuddy, Owner of To Be Me.co.uk.I’m an Accredited Qualified Counsellor with 18 years post experience and have worked with various problems that Clients can bring. My main aim is to enable Clients to feel safe enough to explore their issues with someone who can meet them at their level and hear their story from their own perspective. Offering a warm and comfortable environment, I have the experience of working successfully in my Private Practice with the following issues, am able to work with what you bring and explore who you are:
Anxiety, Stress, Relationship and Divorce issues, Sexual Abuse and it’s effects on the Adult survivor, Life Changes, Loss and Bereavement, Addiction and Management, Life Purpose, Depression and it’s Roots, Cultural Displacement -Establishing the True Self, Young people and General Self development.
I have discovered through Client feedback that To Be Me and "My way of Being", is what enables my Clients to find the resolve they are looking for. This is offered on a Short or Longer term basis, as the Client needs.

To Be Me Counselling came about after my own life experience and journey back to health after a breakdown at 22 years of age.
I struggled trying to find myself again having lost all confidence after suffering with Agoraphobia. I spent many years moving in and out of depression wondering how to resolve my inner demons.
I then discovered the Talking Therapies. I began my own counselling path at 28 and by the Age of 34 I began a course in counselling and completed my Advanced Diploma in 2003.
The name of my Practice came about due to the words repeating themselves during my own counselling where I would state, "I just want to be me".
Discovering "The True Self" can be a difficult road filled with painful but also completed experiences. Once your story begins to be heard, a phenomenal movement occurs within ourselve’s which facilitates Autonomy and Self discovery enabling the Client to make informed and Real decisions for themselves.
Clients can often arrive feeling as if they are Lost and don’t know how to make the necessary change.
That Change is possible but ... it takes you to make the necessary decision to "Walk Through The Therapy Door`’.

I am a Qualified Practitioner having an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling - CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) 4 years inclusive training.I have worked in various roles during my 17 years of practice both privately and in employment. I have 8 years of Employment Assistance Assessing experience and offer a Clinically assured Ethical Practice.
